IZ1LBG Filippo Vairo
I started to get interested in ham radio back in 2005 when I was just if 15 years old. I got my license on March 2007 and I soon started to enjoy contesting and DXCC hunting. Now I usually operate contest from IQ1RY club station and I have been guest operator in some big contest station as CN3A and D4C, but you can also find me calling CQ around the bands or on a pileup trying to work a DXpedition. Other major contest activity includes IR1G, IR4M, G6PZ, II1A, IO1T, IU4HQ, IO4HQ, IO1HQ, IO1H and 5D5A. My preferred mode is phone, but I also enjoy CW mode and I’m active also on RTTY especially during contests. I am currently a postgraduate Math student at Turin University.
I have been interested in WRTC since Moscow where a very good friend of mine Flavio IK1SPR has been as referee. When WRTC2014 selection criteria went out I decided to try to apply for the young TL position and at the end I got it.
