The tours, activities, and dinners that will form the social aspects of WRTC2014 have been finalized. You can see the complete list at on the Tours and Activities page.
The tours are organized for the WRTC2014 competitors and referees, but everyone is welcome on a space available basis. There are links to the registration pages where everyone must sign up for the activities they want to participate in. Tours will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Activities begin with a welcome barbecue on Wednesday evening. Non-hams can escape the contest talk by joining the Ham Widow’s ball.
Thursday offers tours to Boston city center including a Duck Tour and special tour to Fenway Park.
The opening ceremony is Thursday evening. The dinner requires a reservation and payment in advance, but everyone will be invited to the opening ceremony to see the teams march in.
There are tours and activities available over the weekend for those not competing in WRTC2014.
Monday offers a choice between several interesting tours including a trip to the Marconi site on Cape Cod, a trip to see the magnificent old homes in Newport, RI, or a visit to the US Navy Submarine Museum in Groton, CT. All of the tours will return visitors in time for the closing ceremony and the buffet dinner.
We urge anyone considering attending an event to register early. You must preregister to attend any events. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
