A U.S. team won the World Radiosport Team Championship which was held at multiple South Shore sites July 12-13.
WESTBOROUGH – A team from the United States recently won the World Radiosport Team Championship, which was held at many South Shore sites.
The 24-hour non-stop competition began at 8 a.m. Saturday, July 12. The amateur radio operators, in teams of two, work through the night, trying to contact as many people around the world as they can.
The U.S. team of Dan Craig, 33, of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and Chris Hurlbut, 31, of Bozeman, Mont., finished in first place with a final score of 7,184,844 points. The pair led all 59 competing teams from the first hour. Teams from Slovakia and Germany earned silver and bronze.
