VE7SV Dale Green
Team: North America 12 Canada West
Country: Canada
Age: 68
Occupation: Air Canada (Flight Operations Management), Retired
Now retired and living at Renaca Beach, Chile and Chilliwack, BC depending on the weather. As Snowbirds we spend summer in both hemispheres.
Licensed since 1959 and active continuously since with activity from many parts of the world possible because of my requirement to travel overseas for work. Highlights include DXpeditions to Conway Reef (3D2AM) with OH2BH and friends, FP/VE7SV with BC DX Club members and friends. Radio has shaped my life both socially and at work. Many wonderful friendships have been made during my visits abroad. In 2013 I was honored to be inducted into the CQ Contest Hall of Fame and received the plaque at the Dayton Convention Contest dinner. What a thrill!
I have been fortunate to attend every WRTC event including the first in Seattle where VE7CC and I were teammates. We still continue to be partners after all these years and I look forward to operating with Lee in New England. WRTC epitomizes the competitive spirit of Amateur Radio contesting but the camaraderie and lifelong friendships formed at these events possibly outweigh the actual operating event. Thank you WRTC organizers….past and present.
